Professor Ronni Gamzu is a shining example of how ISEF scholars from immigrant backgrounds become leaders and doers. Professor Gamzu has just received a special appointment by the Ministry of Health to address COVID-19 related deaths in nursing homes.
Professor Gamzu was the very first joint MD/Ph.D. graduate from Tel Aviv University in 1996. He earned both degrees as an ISEF Scholar and is a leader among ISEF’s alumni. “ISEF’s emphasis on excellence, on reaching your goals by getting advanced degrees, was exactly the direction I wanted to take.”. The son of Iranian immigrants, Professor Gamzu is the CEO of Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv and formerly served as the Director-General of Israel’s Ministry of Health. To date, he has received many awards and has published over 60 professional articles.
