Tamar Laytman, a fifth-year medical student, is a shining example of the many ISEF scholars ‘answering the call’. She shared a video clip while volunteering with Magen David Adom, doing their part in the fight against the coronavirus.

Tamar is working toward her MD at Tel Aviv University. Her parents are Tunisian and Romanian immigrants and she is the fourth of five siblings. Tamar worked on her family’s farm at a young age and served with distinction as an officer in the IDF. In her spare time, Tamar gives concerts in nursing homes and generously volunteers as a high school tutor and mentor. She is also a public advocate for Ethiopian Jews seeking to pursue a medical degree.
